1. Complete User Profile Setting

2. Choose A Theme

4. Site Title & Tag Line

The next step is to give your blog a title. The title can be of anything like your name or any company name. whatever you want to name it. to edit the title of the blog. go to the “Settings” tab and in that click on “General Settings”.

In General settings, you will see the Site title field and other fields. Give a suitable site title. After that you have can provide a tag line of the blog. the tag line helps the user to better understand the website. complete all the settings.

5. Site Icon & Favicon

Once you have given a good site title then the next task is to upload site icon and favicon. The site icon is important as it displays the site logo. The site logo helps to build brand reputation. The logo should be simple and attractive that stays in the mind forever.

The favicon is the small icon in the corner of the browser tabs. The small favicon helps the reader to differentiate between different tabs. It helps to easily recognize the website from the favicon.

6. Delete Default Pages

WordPress by default creates a testing page. You can see the “Hello world!!!” page on your blog. it is only for testing purpose and you can delete it. to remove the page, go to the Pages tab. Select the page and click o move to the trash button.

7. Create A Gravatar

Gravatar is a profile display hosting website that allows the user to display the same picture on all websites. It is used to display the profile picture in comments and author bios. To create a Gravatar, go to their official website. create a new account with the same email address used in WordPress.

Upload your profile picture and save it. then you will see your profile picture on every website you leave a comment or post an article.

8. Setup Comments

Comments are very important to interact with readers of your blog. it helps to get feedback from users about the blog post. It is a great way to get engage with the audience on the blog post.

It is pretty simple to set up comments on a blog. go to the “Discussion” tab in the dashboard. There you have options to enable and disable comments on the blog. to keep filter the scam comments you can use plugins like Akismet.

9. Install SEO Plugin

Plugins are just like apps on the smartphone. It makes the task easier. Just creating a blog post is not enough for getting traffic. You have to do marketing of it. the SEO optimized blog post gets a higher rank in the search results.

So to write an SEO friendly blog post you can use Yoast SEO plugin. It provides an SEO checklist that analyzed the content and provides a suggestion.  You can create SEO optimized blog post from it.

10. Google Analytics
